   We love to find great books, and this time of year we love great Christmas books.  This was a wonderful story about an elf that does not work fast enough for the head elf.  Taking way too much time on a toy he thinks Santa will be disappointed in him.  When he finds out that this special toy he has been working on will be a very special gift for a special boy born in a stable on Christmas the reasons come together on why he was picked for this job.


   We loved this book little guy loved the illustrations by Darren Geers.  The colors and detail in the pictures was fantastic.  Little guy loved looking at the pictures as much as he loved the story.

  The story written by Jay Dee was very well written and a joy to read.  If you have a little one who loves books as much as my little guy this is a must have for the holiday season. I am so excited we got to add this to our book collection

    As you all know I don’t do book reviews very often.  With a five year old it’s hard for me to get into a book while hearing mama every 2 minutes.  Due to this I now have very high standards of what books I read.  Don’t get me wrong I love reading but these days for me to read a book it has to suck me in.  I have to want to read the next chapter right away or.  If I can guess what is going to happen in the last chapter chances are I will just go with my theory and put the book away. I want to be invested in the charters I want to have to ask myself questions.  If I am not lost in the book it really does nothing for me.

   When they sent me a little about Giants in the Land I knew I would be sucked in right away.  Not only does it have action and adventure, but I was asking myself questions threw the whole story.  Why were the Giants there?  Why did they leave?  Will he make it to find them?  Who is in the cave?  Every time I turned the page I had more questions and could not wait to find the answers.  I was excited to pick this book up every night and read.  This book will take you on an adventure with Thomas to find out why the giants who have helped and been the villager’s friends for many years just picked up and left one night.  Thomas goes on a journey not only to find the giants but he also discovers a little more about himself on the way.  He is stronger then he thinks and can overcome a whole lot more then he thought he could. Each chapter in this book will leave you wanting more and more.

 

  This is a fantastic holiday stocking stuffer for the reader in your family. Weather they are young or old everyone will enjoy this adventure with Thomas and the giants.

Bedtime for Monsters

    This one is a little darker.  If your kids are easily frightened I would not recommend it.  My son on the other hand wants the monster to come and try to eat him.  The end of course he is a cuddly monster but I do know a few kids that would not let you get to the end.lol   The pictures are very cute and very creative. 

 

I can be Anything

   A very cute book about how you can be anything in this world you want to be.   The pictures are very colorful and cute. 

 

This is a perfect holiday present for the little reader in your family. You can have them delivered right o their door and the books inside were also wrapped.  It made it even more fun for little guy.  I also have to say who ever is doing your wrapping I am very impressed they were beautiful.    For just $19.99 you can send the perfect gift.  The books we got were very cute my son really enjoys them, and I have to say they are original.  We would not have found these two books that we love if it was not for bookroo.

     Texas Farm Girl Reap What You Sow


   Texas farm girl Reap what you Sow was a fantastic story about paying attention to what you are doing.  Sometime making one big mistake can really hurt a business.  If you do make that mistake you will have to do everything you can to help fix it.  This was a fantastic story about how one girl learned that lesson.


  I also loved that when it had a few farm words that some might not understand they have section to explain them to you.   This book was not only fantastically written but the illustrations in it are fantastic.  I grew up in a farming community but my little guy is not.  I love that this book helps bring a piece of my childhood to him.  In the back of the book you will get to know the author.  I love the fact that her books are about her life story.  She has taken her experiences and made them into books that will help teach our kids for years to come.  I would like to note if you are a home schooling mama these really are a collection of books you should have in your collection.  Help bring your kids to a new world with real life experiences.

I passed by this wonderful charity and girls when scrolling threw facebook and saw a picture of a tutu that I just fell in love with.  It made me take a closer look and I was just amazed at these wonderful women, and the work they are doing. Tara and Monika founded Glam Runner in 2011 as a way to bring more fun and GLAM to running while raising money for Girls on the Run of San Diego.  As you all know I am a tutu lover and I love that these are created to make girls feel glamorous while running and the money goes to a great cause.

 

As they are not taking any order right now they are asking for your support straight to girls on the run. “Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event.
