SOLO Game Night

Solo a Star Wars Story

As most of you know there is nothing my family loves more then a movie night and a game night so what can be better then both together.  We are huge Star Wars fans in our house we even have a 4-foot storm trooper that lives in our living room.

SOLO

The first Star Wars came out when I was really young so even though I saw them I never really remembered them.  Then I meet a guy who would become my husband and he insisted we go and buy them all and do a marathon.  I was hooked ever since and of course my favorite charter was Hans Solo.  I always wanted to know more about him.

Did you ever wonder how Hans meet Chewie?  Where they friends from the start?  What does Hans Solo name mean?  This and so many more questions are answered in SOLO a Star Wars movie.

When Solo came out I knew it was going to be one of my favorites.  Chewie and SOLO are the best.  This Disney movie really did not disappoint me. I was hooked.  I thought I was only 10 minutes into it then I saw the credits.  It was that good I wanted more. There DUO is probably the number one DUO in my book.  They are the best team out there.

Gifts for a Health and Fitness Addict

Gift giving can be a relatively difficult process. Generally speaking, people are difficult to buy for if you want to keep things a surprise and don’t want to ask them what they want directly. This is why it’s generally best to take their hobbies and interests into account and find a gift that focuses around that. This can help to assure that they will be happy with the item that they eventually unwrap. If you have a health and fitness addict in your life, here are a few gift ideas that should go down particularly well.

A Toiletry Bag

There’s little worse than arriving at the gym, only to find that your toiletries haven’t been closed properly, or have leaked or burst, and that your gym wear or towel has been covered in shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel. You’ll either have to accept using these wet items, or call it a day and head home without completing a work out. A good quality toiletry bag can help to prevent this from happening, as any spilled or leaked products will be contained inside the bag rather than damaging other items.

A Yoga Mat

Sure, most gyms that offer yoga classes do supply mats for individuals attending the class. But if you are attending classes such as yoga, pilates, or meditation, it’s always nice to have a mat of your own. You tend to have bare feet for these activities, and if you have your own mat, you can guarantee that only your clean feet have touched it. This can be comforting, especially in poses or activities that see other parts of your body, such as your face, come into contact with the mat. There are a whole variety of different mats available on the market and they come in all sorts of colors, patterns, and designs. So keep an eye out for one that fits in well with the intended recipient’s general aesthetic. If they have a favorite color, opt for this!

Headphones

While most gyms will play music, many of us tend to prefer listening to our own playlists. Standard earphones, however, tend to fall out, which can be frustrating when you want to focus on your exercise regime. This is why headphones tend to be favored by gym-goers and can make a perfect gift if the health and fitness addict in your life doesn’t already have a pair. Take a look at the different types available. Some have better sound quality than others, and there are many that can cancel out surrounding noise, giving the wearer a more immersive experience with their music.

These are just a few different gift ideas that should leave a huge grin on a health and fitness lover’s face. So, take them into consideration and browse the different options and deals on the market!

Monster Crunch

Count Chocula, Boo Berry, Franken Berry, Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy. Now that I brought your childhood back to you, checking out Monster Crunch is a must. Big G Creative is releasing a new board game title, Monster Crunch! The Breakfast Battle Game and you can only get it at Target.  What does this mean make sure to head there right away and get it before its gone.  This game is so much fun and even funnier if you play while eating your favorite cereal.

So, I had my Count Chocula all ready to go and looked a little closer.  My son had opened it and was all excited he ate most of the marshmallows out of it. That tricky little guy.  Luckily, it’s the time of year I can run out and get some more. Target had all the cereals even a few other goodies and of course Monster Crunch the game.

This is so easy to play

The goal try to eat as much a possible by playing your cards the player with the most eaten at the end of three hands win.

How to start

Each player chooses a monster.

Shuffle your cereal cards

Pick 12 cards from your stack (don’t show anyone)

Every one gets one milk token the rest go in the center

The player who most recently ate a bowl of cereal gets to go first.

What next

Each player will play cards from their hands

You need to put down a card higher or equal to the player before you.

If you don’t have a card then you have to pass.

There are extras you can do.  You can only play one card unless you have a milk token then you can combine cards.

When you can no longer play the players that had to pass get a milk token and cards are placed facedown on the side.  The winner of the round does not get the token.

When a player runs out of cards the hand is over.  You get to keep your milk tokens but not the remaining cards.  Then you start over again from the beginning.

I love that this does not have too many rules.  My son could easily grasp the concept and he loved playing.

If you are looking for a must have for this season this would be my number one.  Head to Target and pick up not only your General Mills Cereal so you can be the first player, but also your Big G Creative Monster Crunch game.

Most Beautiful Towns in Colorado

Colorado

Denver, Colorado’s largest and most populous city with over 719,000 residents, offers lots to see and do, but if you’re looking to experience some of the state’s most beautiful towns, you’ll need to head elsewhere. Most can be discovered tucked between the majestic peaks of the Rockies or nestled in the foothills, west of the Mile High City. For the best of the best these are arguably the most stunning towns in the Rocky Mountain State. If you are planning on making a move to this amazing city, especially after you read down below on what the entire state has to offer, you can check out a Denver Realtor and get some more information on what options are out there for you. Now onto these beautiful towns.

Telluride

Located in the remote southwest corner of Colorado, nestled deep within a box canyon in the San Juan Mountain Range, Telluride is often named the state’s most beautiful town. Grand Victorian-era buildings line its streets, giving it a storybook feel, minus the modern traffic lights, neon signs, and billboards. Instead, you’ll see Victorian storefronts and Frontier-era facades along the downtown streets, while the soaring jagged peaks of the mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop as well as opportunities for adventure, from skiing and snowboarding to hiking and mountain biking. You may even want to take part in some gold detecting during your time here, as Colorado has been known to have a history of gold in its area, which was used to keep people in mining jobs back in the 1880s. Although nowadays there is a major difference in how gold is found. Maybe a search with a Garrett GTI 2500 detector can get you the riches you desire.

Aspen

Aspen is one of Colorado’s most well-known mountain towns, considered a playground for the wealthy and the famous. Lots of celebrities have homes here, from Oprah Winfrey and Jack Nicholson to Jessica Biel and Tom Cruise, with the downtown area filled with upscale restaurants and high-end shops that cater to those with expensive tastes. While you might bump into a star or two as you browse or dine, you’ll find a lot more to do than go looking for Hollywood royalty. Surrounded by some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the state, you’ll be steps from miles of hiking and biking trails as well as world-class fly-fishing streams. The Maroon Bells are a must-visit as the most photographed mountains in the country, located just 12 miles from downtown. Of course, during the winter months you’ll have four mountains to ski or board down, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk and Snowmass.

Manitou Springs

Sandwiched between Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs is renowned for its eight different mineral hot springs. Native Americans believe these soothing springs have the ability to heal and there’s no doubt that by the time you step out of that warm water stress seems to instantly melt away. The charming downtown area boasts a pretty Historic District lined with beautifully-restored buildings that have been transformed into unique boutiques, art galleries, New Age-type retailers, gem shops, bookstores and eateries. You might just fall in love with this town as so many others have. If you’d like to visit more often while enjoying the conveniences of the city, Colorado Springs real estate, just a little over 6 miles east, might be ideal.

Estes Park

The eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park is just 90 minutes from Denver, yet it offers some of the country’s most jaw-dropping mountain scenery. You’ll find a wealth of things to do right in town while enjoying the view of the mountains and abundant wildlife, including lots of elk, deer and bighorn sheep. If you do spot a deer and want to identify the species, you can find a useful guide to deer and lots more advice about these fascinating animals on the Feed That Game website. Mule deer fawns are my personal favorite. Downtown hosts an amusement park, art galleries, independent shops, and lots of restaurants, while the legendary Stanley Hotel is so impressive it can be seen from quite a distance, set at the base of the Rockies. This historic landmark was the very hotel for which Stephen King based his novel The Shining and parts of the television miniseries by the same name were shot here too.

Crested Butte

The Wildflower Capital of Colorado is stunning all year-round, but in July and August, the lush meadows are literally bursting with color, including columbine, lupine, paintbrush and dozens of other blooming flowers. Crested Butte, set in the heart of the Rockies some 30 miles north of Gunnison, offers all the requisite mountain adventures too, from winter skiing to hiking and biking over 750 miles of trails in the area during the warmer months. Other than gliding down the slopes, this gorgeous town is especially famous for its rivers that offer rafting, kayaking, and some of the best trout fishing around.

Scottsdale Ranked as one of the Best Cities for Finding Jobs

The state of Arizona is booming with opportunity. According to one study, Arizona has four out of the ten top-ranking cities for finding jobs in 2018.

Scottsdale is the second best city in the nation for finding a job in 2018.

About Scottsdale

Scottsdale is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, just north of Tempe. It is home to around 236,000 residents and a thriving labor market.

Not only is it the second highest ranking city in the nation for finding a job, but it ranks high in other economic areas as well.

According to Forbes, it is fifth in the country for the job market, third for socio-economic status, and fifth for cities with the highest median annual income (adjusted for cost of living). Scottsdale offers a ton of different job opportunities and has a positive employment growth. There is a very low rate of unemployment in the area.

To make the city even more appealing, it is still growing. The population is booming, and housing is still affordable.

Remember, which ever sector you believe you’ll end up finding a career in, 36% of all jobs across all industries will require complex problem-solving skills, so it might be worthwhile improving such skills should you want to find a suitable career path for yourself. Three industries are responsible for the impressive growth, and job opportunities in Scottsdale.

  • the tech industry
  • the real estate industry
  • the healthcare industry.

Tech Industry in Scottsdale

There are a ton of major tech companies that are based in Arizona-it ranks 12th in the nation for its percentage of the workforce in the tech industry.

They are also growing and expanding. These provide thousands of jobs to local, like those living in Scottsdale. These tech businesses include

  • GoDaddy
  • Valor Global Services
  • Yelp
  • Styr Labs Inc. T

These big names in employment employee people in many niches, which is what is attracting many people to the area. If you are looking, you can find work in cybersecurity, online management, and online finance.

Real Estate Industry in Scottsdale

The real estate industry in Scottdale is booming for numerous reasons. In fact 81% of Scottsdale population are homeowners. If you’re interested in going this statistic then RTT Home Group can help you see what’s for sale in Grayhawk, Scottsdale. Here are some benefits of Scottsdale real estate:

  • the smaller population than other metroplexes
  • the tremendous economic
  • business opportunities
  • it is relatively safe.

Schools in Scottsdale also rank high, which is a major determining factor for parents to buy houses in the city.

A lot of people are also retiring to Arizona, so a growing older population purchasing retirement houses also contributes the real estate industry.

Health Care Industry

A significant reason the healthcare industry in Scottsdale is booming is because it is the base for the famous Mayo Clinic. This leading health research clinic has been centered in Scottsdale since 1987. Since the Mayo Clinic called Scottsdale home, other healthcare businesses have come to Scottsdale and done well. This has led to a rise of healthcare admin careers and education resources in the area for roles both hands-on and administrative in the area.

With the growing population of families and retired couples, there are many reasons for different sectors of healthcare to bloom. Health care is currently the number one industry in Arizona for growth.

But, not only is health care accessible in Scottsdale, but cosmetic health care is also growing in the area such as laser surgery and plastic surgery in Scottsdale.

Conclusion

So, if you are looking for an excellent opportunity for a career change, consider moving to Scottsdale and finding a job in the tech, real estate, or the healthcare industry.

The Cat In the Hat Season 2 on DVD

The Cat In The Hat

Do you remember the Cat In The Hat?  Did you know he knows a lot about that?  We love the Cat In The Hat cartoons with such a better picture quality then I remember yet the same charters that we all love this is perfect for any house with kids.

The Cat In The Hat

The Cat In The Hat is perfect for young kids.  As you know the Cat is always getting into some kind of trouble.  It is so much fun to see how he gets out of it.  Of course, he always thinks he knows best just like our little ones.  I think The Cat In The Hat has some great lessons to teach out little ones.  I love that it has such a fun way of teaching those lessons.  Season 2 has 20 episodes that are going to keep your kids sucked in.

FLOOGALS Project Birthday Cake

Floogals

My son loves when a new FLOOGALS comes out.  Even better this birthday cake one came to him 6 days before his birthday.  He was so excited.  With FLOOGALS you get to learn about experimentation, discovery, and observation.  I love a great kid show that is 100% family friendly and they learn while watching.  I don’t have to have mommy guilt when I need a few moments alone and stick him in front of the tv. He is loving learning while watching.

FLOOGALS

These little aliens have come to earth to figure out what “hoomans” are like.  It is such a cute idea it gives you an idea of what babies must be thinking seeing everything for the first time.  Project Birthday cake was of course his favorite.  He loves cake and for my little guy it also helped teach him a little about what cakes celebrate.

We love FLOOGALS and would completely suggest it for every family.  If you need a mommy break don’t feel bad about sitting them down in front of this one.  There is a whole world out there to discover.

Floogals: Project Birthday Cake

In Project Birthday Cake, Boomer’s built a little fizzerific food finder attachment for his Fizzer controls. It’s supposed to be able to sniff out food – a subject close to Boomer’s heart. Flying by a massive birthday cake the food finder goes out of control and Boomer crashes. The Floogals have to work out how to re-make the frosting and in the process find out what a birthday cake and decorations are for.
