Grilled Halloumi Sandwiches 

 

The first idea for a fun snack out and about is a grilled halloumi sandwich, these are super simple to make and will make a perfect accompaniment to fruit juices and sweet treats. 

 

Ingredients: 

 

  • 1 block halloumi 
  • Seeded bread 
  • Spinach 
  • Beef tomato slices 
  • Grated carrot 
  • Houmous 

 

  1. Slice your halloumi into thin slices and add to a frying pan. Fry for a few minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Set aside. 
  2. Toast your seeded bread. Once toasted, spread some Houmous on each slice. 
  3. Assemble your sandwiches starting with spinach, then grated carrot, halloumi, and tomato slices. 
  4. Top your sandwich and cut in half. 

 

Warming butternut squash soup 

 

Looking for a beautiful creamy soup to enjoy from a flask this weekend? Our simple butternut squash soup is the ideal choice for you and it will bring some much needed flavour and warmth to your picnic. 

 

Ingredients: 

 

  • 1 large butternut squash 
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 1 red bell pepper 
  • ½ white onion
  • 1 tbsp cumin 
  • 1 tsp ginger 
  • 1 tsp garlic salt 
  • 1 tsp mild curry powder
  • Salt and pepper 
  • 100ml orange juice 
  • 250ml vegetable stock 
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée 

 

  1. Chop up your butternut squash, sweet potato, white onion, and red bell pepper. Place on a baking sheet with the spices, salt and pepper, and some oil. Roast for 45 minutes. 
  2. In a saucepan, heat up some vegetable stock and orange juice. Add tomato purée and simmer for 5 minutes. 
  3. Add the cooked vegetables to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes. 
  4. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth. Season to taste. 

 

White chocolate and raspberry cupcakes 

 

Looking for a yummy sweet treat? These easy cupcakes are the best option for your picnic and will be ideal paired with a glass of bubbly! 

 

Ingredients: 

 

  • 110g self raising flour 
  • 110g butter 
  • 110g sugar 
  • 1 large egg
  • 100g white chocolate 
  • 150g butter for icing 
  • 300g icing sugar 
  • 12 white chocolate cubes
  • Raspberry jam 
  • Raspberry sauce 

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C and line a tray with cupcake cases. 
  2. In a large bowl, mix 110g butter and sugar until creamy. Add your egg and whisk until light and fluffy. 
  3. Add the flour and fold until thick and creamy. 
  4. Scoop into your cupcake cases and squirt a small amount of raspberry sauce on top, swirling with a skewer to marble. 
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes until spongy. 
  6. Cool completely. 
  7. Melt your white chocolate in the microwave and set aside. 
  8. Beat together icing sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add your melted chocolate and place in a piping bag. 
  9. Once cupcakes are cooled make a hole in the top and add a dollop of jam.
  10. Pipe the buttercream onto your cupcakes, drizzle with raspberry sauce, and then add your chocolate cube on top.

Stress Relief 

Reducing the stress in our lives is good for us both physically and mentally. Sometimes we are assailed by significant stresses such as relationship issues, money worries, or health. Sometimes it’s more minor things like traffic, a frustrating client, or running out of coffee, for example. Big or small, these stresses can easily and quickly build into something that is extremely bad for your health if nothing is done about it. 

 

Taking some time to relax, perhaps also incorporating breathing exercises or trying a class such as yoga, will help to reset your mind and reduce the stress within it, which in turn will help to keep your body healthy. Raised stress levels can cause heart conditions, stroke, high blood pressure, obesity, and ulcers, to name just a few issues. 

 

Feel Accomplished 

Keeping fit physically will give you a great sense of accomplishment, especially if you can do something you thought was beyond your capabilities, or you didn’t want to go to the gym or for a run, but you did it anyway – you’ll feel great afterward. The more you do, the more you will be able to do, and you will find that exercising becomes a lot easier. You will probably even begin to enjoy it. 

 

Feeling accomplished like this will give you a more positive outlook on life, which will help your mental health and enable you to do so much more. This is a cycle of achievement; the more you do physically, the happier you are mentally, which pushes you to do more physically and so on. 

 

Have Fun 

Having fun may not sound like a way to keep fit, but it is an almost essential part of the process. Being able to enjoy life will, of course, give you a better mental state and make it easier to overcome challenges because you will be able to see solutions that a more negative person might not. 

 

By having fun when you exercise, not only are you boosting your enjoyment of life (and therefore your mental health), but you are more likely to continue with that exercise and do more of it, improving your physical health at the same time. Just be careful to ensure that if you become injured while exercising or playing sports that you seek out good chiropractic care immediately. If you continue to try to stay healthy with an injury, you could undo a lot of the excellent work you’ve been doing.

My review:I found this movie to be highly entertaining and funny.  I loved seeing Timmy grown up with his own family, and  the lengths he would go through to keep a tight bond with his daughter Tabitha. Ted of course has also grown and with the help of Timmy’s daughter Tina, gets a lesson in life and family, and learns to work together with his brother. This is a fun family movie with loads of laughs and heartfelt moments.

The second season is out and I am ready.  I missed most of the second season due to a DVR that needed to be replaced.  Now I can catch up on one of my new favorite series.  I love the Dc comic series they have been coming out with and I love when they have a cross over.  Its a great way to get to know all the new charters.   In this season we are still holding out hope that our hero is ok.  When the bat shows back up many think she is back but is it really her?  Is it someone else and will they be able to handle the pressure of the bat suite?  Make sure to catch up on the new series with the Blu-Ray and digital code pack.

Why I Fell In Love With EVXO Cosmetics

As most of you know I am very picky about the makeup I use.  I don’t want heavy makeup, but I want the cover up look.  If the makeup I am wearing is heavy I will never use it again and I break out like crazy.  The EVXO Cosmetics gave me great coverage and it was not heavy at all.

I used the Brandy Mineral foundation.  I love that they had a ton of colors to choose from and even looking on the internet I could tell the color I would need.  It matched my skin perfectly and I did not have to cake it on to get the look I wanted.  It glided over my skin and was not melting off half way threw the day.

 

The Red wine Lip Stick  had great color.  Not this is not smug proof, so it does come off on my water glass.  Even though it was not smug proof I did not have to re apply all day.  It was bright and it was not drying on my lips.

The Mascara Was not chunky at all.  My lashes looked huge after using it and at night it came right off with a Little face wash and water.

 

I loved this collection and will continue to use any of their products.  I was truly impressed that none of it meted off in the Arizona summer heat and it really gave me great coverage.  My skin looked smooth and not dry at all.
