Besides, the European Commission has come up with a long list of prohibited ingredients in baby formulas, including guar gum, carrageenan, pectins, and other substances. Besides, not less than 30% of the carbohydrates in European baby formulas must be derived from lactose. There are no such requirements in the US, even for organic infant formulas. Sucrose is prohibited in European baby formula. Furthermore, there are multiple types of European baby formulas for babies with special nutritional needs, and there are also organic options among them. 

 

In a nutshell, organic baby formulas are really better than regular formulas since they guarantee the absence of harmful substances in the composition.
