When I first saw the Stinky Science Lab I knew it would be fun.  My son has sensory issues and one thing he always does is smell everything.  Weather it is food or a person he has to know what it smells like.  I knew he would love the SmartLab Toys Stinky Science Lab.  Now he can smell everything and even mix and match.

With the SmartLab Toys Stinky Science Lab there is 3 compartments.  You can put stuff in one, two or all three.  They have cute little cups to put your items in then put on the stand and cover with matching number.  When you are done make sure to wash the cups and dry sow hen you get your next scents they do not mix So easy.  Now they do call this the Stinky lab but you can even mix and match awesome scents.  We mixed an orange, rose and coco butter.  It smelled fantastic.

Now your kids can discover the world of smell with this cute smell machine.  This was put together in less than 20 seconds and ready to go.  The instruction booklet even came with 20 experiments and even some facts for my son to enjoy.  We had a blast with this and my son loves that he can mix match and have fun.  He likes to mix stuff I don’t like the smell of and have me smell it then laugh.  He has so much fun.

My little guy is obsessed with all thing’s vortex.  When I saw this awesome Stem toy Ultimate Vortex Generator at the show I knew he was going to go nuts.  He gets to play and do experiments while watching the vortex to see what they do.

If you have a little one that loves learning and great science toys then this is a must have this season.  The instruction book that comes with it also has great facts and experiments for your little one.  The instruction book has over 20 experiments that will keep your kids intrigued and having a blast.

Set up for this is no time at all.  It is just put the batteries in , set the magnet into the beaker and be ready to go.  The most time we spent was looking for other stuff to put in the vortex to watch them go.

When filling the large beaker with water do not fill to the top the vortex will change the water level.  If you do over fill it no worries there is a great catch tray to put on the bottom so no big mess to clean up.

As you can see he put everything he could think of in the vortex.  He loved to see what the stuff would do with the vortex on and off.  We have this set up in our kitchen and every day he comes home with a new idea of what he wants to try.

Around the Farm Game

  Around The Farm is a fantastic memory game that we all loved.  As you all know my son loves farm animals what he loves even more is any baby animal.

  Around The Farm is a perfect game for him.  Each player gets parent cards the amount of how many you get depends on how many players.  You place the parent cards in front of you then all the baby cards faced down.  The youngest player goes first and spins the dial.  They get to turn that many cards over trying to match the babies to the parent.  If you get a match you get to keep them and put them on the parent card.  If they don’t match you turn them back over in the same spot.  Then off to the next player.  The winner will be the one that matches 3 baby cards to each of the parent cards in front of them.

   Around the Farm Game was a great memory game.  I was so proud of my son he did awesome and he was so excited when he found the baby to give to the parent.  If you have a little one who loves games then this one will be a must this year.  SO much fun for the whole family.

     Little guy has always had a connection with animals.  No matter where we went he always had animals following him around.  He loves when we bring him to farms, the farm animals are some of his favorite.

  PLUS PLUS has come out with a fantastic new toy that will keep any kid entertained.  These double Plus sine blocks all fit together to make my sons favorite farm animals.  The packages come with detailed instructions that make it fun and easy for any kid.  If you are traveling or going out to eat grab one of these to keep them entertained.

  When they are done building their favorite farm animals Horse, Duck, Pig or Cow they can use them to build anything that comes to their imagination.  Then just put back in the tube and have them again for next time.

 

  The pig and duck are of course my favorite.  I had pigs and a pet duck growing up so these are a must have in our home.

     I love that these are all the same shape.  So unlike other building sets you are not going to have to search for that one little piece you can’t find anywhere.  Plus is you get a few sets you can mix and match and make the animals you own fun mix of colors.

Can you make Porcupine’s Pie ?

When it comes to books in our home the more books the better.  My son loves to sit down and read every night.  The nights leading up to the holidays my son gets a new book to unwrap and is so excited to hit bed and start reading.

While he loves all kinds of books I love ones that help him understand the world and being nice.  Having an autistic son for us means he can not always understand why we should do something, or what the nice thing to do is.  While he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked he would never think to offer what he has.

Porcupine’s Pie is a fantastic book about friendship and sharing what you have.  With friends there should not always be a need to ask sometimes your friend should just know what you need and offer.  This book has helped him a lot.  Yesterday I said I was thirsty and he offered me his juice.  This is a big step for him.

This is one of the little things in life we as adults know about, but sometimes need some reminding that our kids still have to be tout everything.

The writing in this is very cute and fun to read.  The pictures are also cute and my son picked up what was going on in the story just from the pictures even before I did.  At the end of the book it also gives you a fantastic recipe for Friendship Pie.  Such a great way to end the book.  When you are done reading you can get more great family time in cooking together.

This holiday season make sure to pick up a copy Porcupine’s Pie then you can make a pie together to bring to that holiday get together.

  Who remembers our cartoons in the 80’s?  Till this day I still think they are the best.  Any chance I get to re-watch them I do.  Now I can re watch the 1980’s Gumby any time I want.  They came out with the whole series on DVD.

We are so excited for The House With a Clock in Its Walls  to come out.  As most of you know we don’t get to g to the movies.  With my little guy we have to wait for it to come out on DVD that’s when we get to see all the great ones.  We have been watching the previews for this and are so excited to see this new magical adventure.
