How to Impress People at your Next Family BBQ

If you want to try and impress people at your next family BBQ then you have come to the right place. This guide will help you prepare your food properly while ensuring that your guests come away thinking that you are the best host.

Prepare Beforehand

A lot of people don’t think about preparing in advance, as much as they should. The first thing that you need to do is make sure that you do as much as possible beforehand. Make sure that your meat is ready to go on the grill, that your kebabs are made up and that your potato salad is in the fridge. If you can ensure that this is the case then you will find it much easier to host and socialise when people do arrive. If possible, you also need to ensure that your burger toppings are prepared in advance. By doing this, you can then make sure that you have everything sorted.

Get some Propane

Triple-check to ensure that you have enough propane and gas in your tank to cook dinner. If you do not have enough fuel to cook the food then you may find that the heat runs out halfway through your BBQ and this can leave your meat at a dangerous temperature. Even if you do manage to run out and get some more fuel you may find that your meat is still inedible. If you have a charcoal BBQ then don’t forget essentials such as matches. If you have a smoker then this is great, but buy some wood chips or pucks so your smoked whole chicken doesn’t end up going to waste.

Put up Some Lights

It will get dark outside when you are hosting your backyard BBQ. If you want to work around this then it is a good idea for you to get some tiki torches, along with other decorative lights. There is nothing wrong with outdoor string lights, especially if they are solar-powered. You can even get some that activate on a timer so you don’t have to worry about turning them on and off.

Serve Snacks

If you don’t want people congregating around the grill, which they probably will if they are hungry then it is a good idea for you to try and put out some snacks. When you do, you will soon find that you can keep everyone fed and that it doesn’t matter if food ends up being a little late. If you want to help yourself here then having a folding table that you can set up and quickly put away is a good idea. You can also store it easily when it is not in use. Just make sure that you don’t put out too many snacks because if you do then you may find that you struggle to get people to eat the food you are cooking.

Of course, hosting a BBQ isn’t easy but if you follow this guide, you should find that everyone has a great time.
