Yelp Crowned America’s Best Pasta Spots, and Some Winners May Surprise You

Yelp has released its first Top 100 Pasta Places in the U.S., and the results reach well beyond the usual Italian food capitals. The new ranking, published Tuesday, October 6, 2026, puts The Pasta Shop in Denville, New Jersey, at No. 1, followed by Eataliana Homemade Pasta in Shelby Township, Michigan, and Forma Pasta Factory in Brooklyn, New York.

What Yelp’s new pasta ranking includes

The list covers 100 businesses across the country, and Yelp says it is its first ranking focused specifically on pasta places in the U.S. According to coverage from Parade, Yelp created the list as searches for “pasta shops” on its platform climbed by more than 50 percent this year compared with the prior 12 months. Time Out New York and NBC Chicago both reported the increase more specifically as 52%, measured from September 2025 through August 2026.

Yelp’s methodology, as described in the reporting, started with businesses listed in its “pasta” or “pasta shops” category. Rankings were then based on factors including review volume and rating. Food & Wine coverage republished by AOL also said Yelp capped the list at 10 businesses per state and included only listings that had a passing health score in July.

That mix helps explain why the ranking is not limited to sit-down restaurants. The list includes trattorias, pasta shops, and markets, with several businesses selling fresh pasta and sauces for home cooking as well as prepared meals. For shoppers and home cooks, that means the ranking is as much about where to buy handmade pasta and freezer-ready bundles as it is about where to order a plate for dinner.

The top 10, and why some picks may stand out

The top five are spread across the country rather than concentrated in one coastal market. Parade listed them as The Pasta Shop in Denville, New Jersey; Eataliana Homemade Pasta in Shelby Township, Michigan; Forma Pasta Factory in Brooklyn, New York; Albano’s Pasta Shop in Valparaiso, Indiana; and Pasta Fresca in Reno, Nevada.

AOL’s Food & Wine item also published Yelp’s full top 10. After the top five came Luna Pasta e Dolci Take-Away in Miami, Florida, at No. 6; Assenti’s Pasta in San Diego, California, at No. 7; Pasta Volo in Asbury Park, New Jersey, at No. 8; Ceres in Tucson, Arizona, at No. 9; and Borgatti’s Ravioli & Egg Noodles in the Bronx, New York, at No. 10.

Some of the more surprising results come from the kinds of businesses that made the cut. Yelp’s list is not just about polished dining rooms. It also rewards legacy shops and hybrid retail concepts. Time Out noted that Borgatti’s in the Bronx dates to 1935, while AOL’s report said Eataliana Homemade Pasta not only serves dishes like lasagna and Salsa Rosa but also sells pasta by the pound and offers cooking classes.

Which states and cities landed the most spots

New York and Washington had the most businesses on the list, with nine each, according to both Parade and AOL’s Food & Wine report. Florida followed with eight. Time Out’s New York report highlighted that New York’s entries included Forma Pasta Factory at No. 3, Borgatti’s at No. 10, Bigoi Venezia at No. 14, Un Posto Italiano at No. 18, and Pastosa Ravioli at No. 21.

Regional reports also show how widely the list spreads beyond the coasts. NBC Chicago reported that six Illinois businesses made the ranking: Italian Homemade Company in Fulton Market at No. 20, Tuscan Hen Market in North Center at No. 37, Tortello in West Town at No. 54, Pasta Veneta in Fulton Market at No. 61, Vinny’s Pizza & Pasta in Glenview at No. 87, and Pasta Bowl in Wicker Park at No. 100.

For readers planning a pasta run, the biggest takeaway is that Yelp’s winners include places where dinner can turn into grocery shopping for later in the week. Several of the businesses highlighted in coverage sell fresh or frozen pasta to take home, and some also offer classes or packaged bundles. That makes the list useful not only for restaurant reservations, but for stocking the fridge and freezer before National Pasta Day on October 17.
