With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, you are already looking forward to some fun in the sun. You’ve waited all year for a bit of warm weather and are, quite frankly, sick and tired of the cold, rain, snow and wind. However, don’t let that enthusiasm get the best of you. If you don’t take care of yourself you might be spending time indoors in a sick bed rather than out in that lovely fresh air. Perhaps you are in need of some words of advice to help you enjoy a healthy, happy summer. If so, here they are – three of them at least!
1. Enjoy the Great Outdoors
You’ve waited for warmer weather, what are you still doing inside reading this? Get out and enjoy! However, if you suffer from allergies to airborne allergens or even to the sun itself, take proper steps to avoid the onset of an allergic reaction. For some, inhalers or tablets work well for immediate relief, but for others, the allergies are chronic enough to warrant ongoing treatments. One of the most effective to date is Advair, which is inhaled but is not a mist.
Rather, the medication is a dry powdery substance and the key to its efficacy is to use it as directed daily rather than at the onset of symptoms. In other words, it’s ineffective for immediate relief. You can often find it discounted with an Advair coupon that is good at a local pharmacy like Walgreens, Walmart, or even Rite Aid. Just remember to take all medications as prescribed and you should have no trouble enjoying that fresh air this summer.
2. Sunscreen and Shades
Whether you are prone to sunburn or not, you should always use a high SPF factor sunscreen. Skin cancer is one thing you don’t want to ever deal with and one of the best ways to avoid it is to protect your skin from those UV rays. The same can be said for your sensitive eyes. Did you know that cataracts and macular degeneration are also linked to exposure to radiation from the sun? Where many people go wrong is in thinking that polarized sunglasses protect the eyes from those harmful rays. Actually, they were developed to help you see better and not as a protective cover. Look for the percentage of protection, 100% protection being the best and go for those shades. Your eyes are a precious commodity – take care of them or you could lose a good deal of your vision!
3. Stay Hydrated
And, as one last bit of advice, make every effort to stay hydrated. The quickest way to be stricken by heat stroke is to not keep enough fluids going into your body. Also, avoid healthy alcohol consumption during the hottest months, not because it’s intoxicating but because alcohol is dehydrating. If you want to stay healthy and happy this summer, drink lite beers, ales, and wines with low alcohol content.
So, there you have three tips to keep you feeling your best while avoiding future health related issues. Summer is almost here so get out and enjoy. What are you waiting for? You’ve read the entire article now get up and get out!
I don’t know if the sun is getting stronger, or we are just more aware, but screen protection seems vital these days.
