Del Monte is expanding its canned vegetable lineup with two new seasoned products that lean into familiar dressing flavors. The company announced on October 19 that Ranch Flavored Whole Kernel Corn and Zesty Italian Inspired Vinaigrette Cut Green Beans are now reaching store shelves in the U.S.
What Del Monte is launching
The two new items are Del Monte Ranch Flavored Whole Kernel Corn, made in collaboration with Hidden Valley Ranch, and Del Monte Zesty Italian Inspired Vinaigrette Cut Green Beans. According to Del Monte, the launch is aimed at shoppers looking for convenient vegetables with more built-in flavor.
In the company’s announcement, Del Monte said the ranch corn is the first product in an ongoing collaboration with Hidden Valley Ranch, with more products planned next year. Chris Faller, vice president of marketing for Del Monte Corporation’s foods division, said families are looking for meal solutions that fit modern life and that the brand wants to make canned vegetables easier and more enjoyable to serve.
The green beans use an Italian inspired vinaigrette flavor profile, which Del Monte described as tangy and spicy. On Del Monte’s product page, the green beans are listed in a 14.5 oz. can, and the ingredient list includes green beans, water, distilled vinegar, sea salt, dehydrated garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, cane sugar, crushed red pepper, black pepper, and natural flavor.
Where shoppers can find them
Del Monte said both products are now available on shelves across the U.S. at Giant Eagle, Price Chopper, Tops, Food Lion, Giant Food, Hannaford, Wakefern, Meijer, Schnucks, HyVee, Fareway, AWG, Niemann Foods, SpartanNash, and Amazon. The company also said Kroger is expected to begin carrying them in early November.
That matters because canned vegetables are one of those center-of-store staples shoppers tend to buy on habit. A new flavor only stands out if it is easy to find, and Del Monte is clearly positioning these as mainstream grocery items rather than a limited specialty release.
Del Monte also said the vegetables are made with U.S.-grown produce picked at peak freshness. The company described both products as non-GMO, with an asterisk noting that green beans are a non-GMO vegetable. On Del Monte’s seasoned vegetables page, both Ranch Whole Kernel Corn and Zesty Italian Inspired Vinaigrette Cut Green Beans are already listed among the brand’s current varieties, which suggests the rollout is moving from announcement to regular shelf placement.
Why these flavors stand out
Corn with ranch seasoning and green beans with an Italian style vinaigrette are not the usual canned vegetable profiles, which helps explain the curiosity around the launch. Del Monte said ranch remains one of the most beloved flavors in America, while Italian inspired flavors are also broadly familiar to consumers.
For home cooks, the appeal is straightforward. These are vegetables that can be heated and served as a side, but Del Monte is also pitching them as shortcuts for bowls, casseroles, sheet pan meals, and other quick dinners. The company specifically said the green beans can add a bright, savory kick to side dishes and mixed meals.
The move also fits with a broader effort by packaged food brands to make pantry items feel less plain without asking shoppers to do extra prep. Del Monte called itself the first brand to bring these two flavors to the center-of-store vegetable category. For shoppers, the practical question is simpler than the marketing language: whether ranch corn or zesty green beans earn a spot next to the usual plain cans in the pantry.
