In that context, the question is no longer only whether an additive meets a traditional toxicology threshold, but whether repeated low-dose exposure could affect microbial metabolism or the gut barrier over time.
For consumers, the immediate takeaway is practical rather than dramatic. No U.S. recall, FDA consumer warning, or nationwide restriction currently directs people to avoid these emulsifiers altogether.
