We have all heard a lot about self care the last few years. To me self care is not the mini vacation by myself or with friends, it is not going to the bar at night. If that is your version then heck ya go for it. For me it is the little things I can do everyday with or with out my family.
A good skin care routine can easily be skipped and before you know it you have products you have not touched in months, your skin can tell and you are feeling a little off. I love adding the skin care routine into my self care time. I get my Entera products together and have my spot set up ready for my routine. It means for 10 minutes a day everyone can take care of themselves. I take the time to actually take care of my skin and it is actually relaxing. The first few days you might have kids yelling for you, hubby calling for you, but after a few days they learn to just wait. Take the time for yourself.
Self care time with family, now this is a little different, but what your days are always about. Sometimes adding some fun with the kids can be a relaxing time, and that in itself can be self care. We all play Pokemon Go together. I love the 15 minute incense. We throw out our incense and go for a walk daily- its fun for everyone and a little competition to see who catches the most off incense. No fighting, no complaining, just a quick 15 minutes of fun for the family
Self care can also be a quick cup of tea or coffee while sitting outside while the kids are still down. Every morning I have a cup of tea and a mini bowl of chips (my special treat for the day) lol. Its not much but it helps me get started for the day ahead and gives me time to wake up and be the best I can be for the day.
As you can see self care can be the big things or it can be the little things through the day. When we just focus on self care as the big things it can seem like we are drowning. Taking a few minutes for yourself everyday does not mean you are a bad parent or partner, it means you know you can’t be the best you can be by being ON 24/7. You need time for you even if its 5 minutes to breathe.
