After a long cold winter, I am welcoming Spring with open arms. There is no better time than the present to start preparing for Spring cleaning. Here are a few tips to help keep your woodwork looking it’s best.
Stair Railings and Spindles
We all know how to keep our wooden furniture looking it’s best with Scott’s Liquid Gold and their new multi surface cleaning spray ONE Clean Home. But, do you remember to clean your staircase handrails and spindles?
Stairway handles get a lot of buildup on them because they are used so frequently. They are a germ breeding ground! It’s important to give them more attention when cleaning, as well as a deep cleaning once or twice a year.
Here are some tips to help.
1. Sweep stairs thoroughly to remove any dirt, dust and cobwebs.
2. Give your stair railings and spindles a light dusting weekly. A light spray of Scott’s Liquid Gold will keep the railings and spindles looking their best.
3. For build up, try Scott’s new product, ONE Clean Home multipurpose spray. Simply spray it on the surface you’d like to deep clean, and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe away.

Wood on Sliding Glass Doors
Here is another area that is sometimes overlooked when cleaning, but important to maintain. I have Andersen windows and doors in my home, and it’s important to me to keep them looking their best. I always use Scott’s Liquid Gold on my woodwork. Not only does it make them look their best, but it also nourishes the wood and helps protect it.
Alas, the dreaded ceiling fan. We all hate cleaning them, but it has to be done. After all, who wants to breathe in blown dust particles.
